Refund Policy
1. The ₹100 stay booking deposit
When you request a homestay stay, a ₹100 deposit confirms the connection with the host. This deposit is non-refundable, including if you change your mind, the host later becomes unavailable, or you don't end up staying. This matches how deposits already work in the offline homestay market Ilica digitizes — it's a genuine commitment fee, not a prepayment toward your stay.
The remaining balance for your stay is paid directly to the host on arrival, in cash or UPI. Ilica doesn't collect this amount, so any refund for the stay itself — if you need to cancel after arrival, for example — is between you and the host directly, under whatever terms you agreed with them.
2. The ₹49 Connect Pass (Rentals)
A Connect Pass unlocks unlimited rental owner connections for 10 days. Once purchased, it is non-refundable — the same reasoning as the stay deposit: it's a fee for the connection itself, not for any specific outcome with a particular owner.
3. ilicaX subscriptions (for hosts)
Every new host gets a 30-day free trial with full access, no card required. After the trial, continuing requires a paid plan — ₹499/month or ₹5,499/year.
Subscription payments are non-refundable. You can cancel anytime — cancelling stops future billing immediately, and you won't be charged again — but the current billing period you've already paid for is not refunded partway through.
4. There's no general refund process — and here's why
Every payment on Ilica today is either a booking/connection token (Section 1–2) or a subscription charge (Section 3) — both are non-refundable by design, not as a loophole, but because that's genuinely how this business model works: a commitment fee for a connection, and a recurring charge for software access. So there isn't a routine "request a refund" process the way there might be for a product purchase, because under normal use, nothing here is meant to be refunded.
That's different from a payment that was simply wrong. If you were charged twice for the same thing, charged the wrong amount, or a payment failed on your end but still shows as deducted — that's a technical error, not a change of mind, and we want to know about it. Contact us and we'll look into it directly; where a correction is genuinely due, it's processed back to your original payment method via Razorpay, typically reflecting within 5–7 business days.
If this changes in the future — for example, if we introduce refunds for a specific situation — we'll update this page to reflect it.
5. Questions or a payment issue
If something was charged incorrectly, or a technical issue caused a deduction that shouldn't have happened, contact us and we'll resolve it: ilica.services@gmail.com
This policy is written to accurately reflect how Ilica's payments actually work today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Razorpay, as our payment gateway, may also require a visible refund policy to remain in good standing — worth confirming this page meets their specific requirements before launch, alongside a general legal review.
